UNWIND — is a personal macro analysis website. I write it alone. Not an editorial team, not an institution, not a financial firm. Just one person with too many browser windows open and a habit of seeing connections where others see chaos.
They call me Meška. By education I am a historian, by profession a salesperson. I am not an economist, financial analyst, or market guru. Formally I have no grounds to write about macroeconomics. But sometimes that is an advantage: there is nothing to defend and no institution to please.
At some point I realized that reading the news doesn’t help you understand the world. Twenty-five opinions about what has already happened didn’t answer the question of what comes next and why. I began looking for structure, and found the hegemonic cycle. Perhaps that is too bold a claim for a salesperson from Vilnius, but so far this lens explains more than anything else I have read.
This website is a place to collect thoughts, weave them into a whole, and share with people who find it interesting. So far perhaps six, perhaps seven such people. But that is the point: better one place with context than separate messages that get lost.

Articles that connect macroeconomics, markets, geopolitics, narratives and psychology. Each text tries to answer not only what is happening, but why, what mechanism is driving it, and what it means in practice.
The website is bilingual, in Lithuanian and English.
This website — my personal challenge
Everything you read here is my personal opinion, based on public data and the work of smarter people. There are no investment recommendations, forecasts, or prophecies.
I can be wrong. I probably will be in many places, and if you notice, write — because it matters more to me than it does to you. But it seems to me that it is better to try to understand the structure, than to react every morning to a new headline.

Why does UNWIND exist?
Not because I know the answers. Certainly not. I can be wrong — and I write that openly in every article.
UNWIND exists because I want to understand myself, and I want the people around me to understand too. Because if I live well while everyone around me lives badly — tomorrow my environment will be a very unpleasant place to live. Sad people surrounding a happy person — that is not success, that is a prison.
Better if we all understand where we are. Better if we all make smarter decisions. And then the environment we will live in — will be better for everyone.
